CNC/CMM Programmer

Job Description

Hamilton Company is Hamilton Company is looking for a CNC/CMM Programmer who will work under the supervision of the Machine Shop Superintendent. The CNC/CMM Programmer is responsible for creating and modifying computer programs by converting project requirements into code in the Manufacturing Departments at Hamilton Company.                            

Other responsibilities may include:

  • Confirm project requirements by reviewing program objective, input data, and output requirements with engineering, supervisor, and manufacturing
  • Arrange project requirements in programming sequence by analyzing requirements; preparing a work flow chart and diagram using knowledge of computer capabilities, subject matter, programming language, and logic
  • Encode project requirements by converting workflow information into computer language
  • Program the computer by entering coded information
  • Confirm program operation by conducting tests; modifying program sequence and/or codes
  • Prepare references for users by writing operating instructions
  • Maintain historical records by documenting program development and revisions
  • Ensure operation of equipment by following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • All other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

  • General programming skills
  • The ability to analyze information
  • Knowledge of software performance tuning
  • Attention to detail
  • Knowledge of software design
  • Ability to complete software debugging
  • Knowledge of software development fundamentals
  • Ability to understand software documentation
  • Knowledge of software

 

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 7 years of manufacturing experience
  • Technical Certificate and/or LEAP or CTE Program Completion Preferred
