Job Description
Under the direction of the Controller the incumbent performs financial, operational and technical analyses. This position provides support to enterprise management by ensuring business strategies and financial goals are achieved.

  • Exhibit conduct in accordance with all Gaming Commission Regulations, Federal and State laws and regulations, and Golden Nugget and departmental policies and procedures.   • Coordinates and supports business and financial planning, including short and long term financial forecasting.
  • Develop and maintain databases for financial, gaming, marketing, staffing and other statistical data.
  • Develop and generate necessary daily/weekly/monthly financial, gaming, marketing, staffing and other statistical reports and analyses.
  • Assist in the development and monitoring of staffing levels, labor productivity and service level agreements.
  • Support the annual budget process. Develop historical, current and potential future trend analysis.
  • Assist in assessing and communicating financial and operating results to managers. Responsible for monthly executive financial reporting requirements.
  • Develop appropriate financial and operating metrics for use by management in decision making. Ensures departmental goals and performance measures are understood and achieved by managers.
  • Ability to present analyses to management in a group setting.
  • Evaluate and develop financial analysis tools to assess growth, investment or liquidation options.
  • Participate in the assessment of current systems and business processes for adequacy and consistency.
  • Support review meetings with managers to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of management.
  • Maintain excellent communication skills and interpersonal relations with guests, vendors, visitors and Golden Nugget staff.
  • Display professional conduct, sound judgment, the highest level of professional integrity and a strong work ethic.
  • Perform all other related and compatible duties as assigned.

  • Excellent computer skills, including a high level of proficiency in MS Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point.

  • Must be able to work in a very fast paced environment while maintaining accuracy and adhering to strict guidelines and controls.
  • Bachelor's degree program in the area of finance, business or accounting or management information systems.
  • Advanced degree and/or professional certification are preferred.
  • Experience of at least four (4) years with significant exposure in financial analysis in casino hotel industry.
  • Must possess excellent time management skills.
  • Must possess excellent organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of gaming/hospitality operations and systems.
  • Must possess ability to read and understand all policies, procedures, reports and related documents.
  • Must possess ability to read, analyze, and interpret common technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with guests and employees.
  • Must possess ability to write clearly and concisely and effectively present information to top management.
Must possess ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Must possess ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Must possess the ability to operate computer software programs, including financial accounting systems, gaming systems, MS Office including Word, Outlook, Excel, Access and Power Point.  Must be an expert user with MS Excel and have experience with database programs. Knowledge of Tableau and SQL programs a plus.
Must apply for, obtain and remain eligible for the appropriate Gaming License.

  • Must have the manual dexterity to operate a computer and other office equipment.
