Sunrise Children's Hospital is the state ??s only tertiary-care children ??s facility. They are the premier provider of children ??s services and the leading regional referral center servicing Nevada, Arizona, Utah and California. The emergency department evaluates 32,000 pediatric patients per year and has a busy trauma service. The 24 bed pediatric intensive care unit is covered in-house 24 hours per day by our affiliated pediatric intensivists. There is a full complement of pediatric subspecialty support including cardiac surgery. Teaching opportunities are available with rotating pediatric emergency medicine and family practice residents from the University of Nevada School of Medicine. The Medical Director will have a leadership role on committees addressing trauma, EMS and disaster planning and will serve as a media spokesperson for emergency care issues and events. In addition, the Medical Director will provide leadership to quality and process improvement activities related to the provision of emergency services. Long known as a major resort city with world-class entertainment, shopping and fine dining, the Las Vegas area also offers a variety of family-friendly activities. With mild winters and warm, dry summers, this desert climate is great for many outdoor recreational pursuits such as boating, golfing, bicycling, horseback riding and fishing.
