Performs all repairs and preventative maintenance (PM) under limited supervision on company equipment using established procedures or written instructions to complete assigned tasks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Assist senior mechanics in the completion of project work

Performs all work within Standard Repair Times (SRTs)

Performs assigned preventive maintenance services

Utilizes vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate repairs

Reviews and completes repairs identified on Vehicle Condition Reports

Performs repair and adjustment of vehicles and equipment

Performs service calls for emergency breakdowns

Completes all required documentation of repairs, parts used, and repair times utilizing fleet maintenance software

Conducts safety inspections on vehicles and equipment

Washes vehicles and equipment

Maintains a clean, safe work environment in compliance with OSHA and company standards

Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures

Requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of tools, equipment, parts and procedures utilized during repairing and servicing of vehicles and equipment

Knowledge of safety procedure and practices necessary when operating or repairing vehicles or equipment

Knowledge of fuel, ignition, electrical, cooling and air brake systems

Knowledge of hydraulic systems and ability to read hydraulic schematics

Skill in operating shop tools and equipment

Skill in the repair of special purpose equipment

Ability to perform minor and moderately complex mechanical repairs on vehicles and equipment

Ability to complete required paperwork to accurately document repairs, utilization of parts and associated repair times

Ability to effectively communicate needed repairs or tasks

Ability to read and comprehend service and technical information

Education and Experience

High school diploma or G.E.D. and a minimum of three (3) years of experience in automotive/truck, light or heavy equipment repair, or completion of an accredited vocational technician-training program

Licenses & Certifications

Valid Nevada CDL class B or better, or obtain CDL within 6 months of hire

Complete three (3) A.S.E. Certifications within 48 months of hire
