Job Description
The Lead Systems Engineer serves as lead engineer for the UASOCS contract. The candidate will provide guidance in mission needs assessment, operations concepts, requirements definition, requirements analysis, systems design and engineering support throughout system and network design, development, implementation and testing for approved projects. Directs and conducts studies to enhance the UASOCS system, infrastructure, and mission. He/She will recommend innovations, design improvements, and equipment replacement as needed to improve mission operations and availability; reviews problem reports and participates in root cause analyses and quality reviews; is responsible for preparation of programmatic and engineering documentation; provides expertise on data processing, video and communications systems and has a working knowledge of administration tasks. Coordinates all systems design changes with the Government change control board and provides support to the change control board upon request. Maintains an extensive knowledge of C4ISR architectures and concepts. Maintains familiarity with QA, CM, and test practices/tools. Ensures requirements traceability. Designs and leads trade studies for concept development, product evaluation, and design decision-making. Provides technical support for the planning and scheduling of program tasks. Documents designs in appropriate drawings and plans. Provides technical expertise to support certification and accreditation (C&A) requirements.
Qualifications, Experience and Credentials
Possesses a current TS/SCI clearance
Minimum of five years experience in an integrative engineering discipline, such as systems engineering, aerospace engineering, or industrial engineering
Minimum of a BS in one or more engineering or science disciplines
At least two years experience in a DoD operations C4ISR environment and is familiar with and well versed on USAF and DoD C&A policies and directives.
Advanced experience with all phases of the engineering lifecycle including:
o requirements analysis
o allocation
o verification
o high-level system design.
Advanced experience with mission/operations analysis, requirements definition, and support
Advanced knowledge of available hardware, software, and network products and designs
Excellent oral, written, and graphical communication skills Possesses strong problem solving, analytical and communication skills in addition to in-depth technical knowledge of system and network hardware and software.
