Jobing Description
Objective:
To provide functional skills training, personal care, supervisory care, chore services, direction and guidance to NCEP s Casa Norte House leadership and direction to NCEP's Casa Norte House clients as directed by the Manager.
Specific Responsibilities:
1. Provide personal care/ functional skills training and chore services 24 hours per day to insure the personal health and safety of clients.
* Personal care/functional skills training services may include but are not limited to: grooming, personal hygiene, transfers, toileting, dressing, and feeding assistance. All personal cares will be performed as instructed in the personal care plan. The physical safety of clients must be assured at all times.
* Chore services may include, but are not limited to: cooking, cleaning, laundry, grocery shopping, and assistance with correspondence.
2. * Provide and maintain written records and forms, such as the medication chart, communication log, progress notes, behavioral plans, and goal sheets on each client as appropriate for record keeping purposes and staff accountability. This is done by reading written material and/or by verbalizing and communication to others.
3. * Communicate client information to physicians, social workers, community workers and family members when authorized and appropriate.
4. Transport and/or accompany clients to appointments and Community activities when necessary.
5. * Assist the clients in developing and maximizing independent living skills including behavioral programs, teaching self-reliance and independence, social integration, financial assistance and any additional needs of the clients under the direction of the Manager.
6. * Attend annual training as required by ASI, Federal and State regulations. Attend and participate in staff meetings as requested by the Manager.
7. * Respect and practice the confidentiality and personal privacy/possessions of all clients served by ASI/NCEP.
8. * Respond appropriately to victimizations such as theft, assault, and personal injury.
9. Ability to consistently follow through will with all developed behavior plans and protocols. Learn, follow and promote behavior strategies that empower and allow Clients to live in a functional, safe, & respectful environment in spite of their behavioral challenges.
10. Perform other job related tasks as directed by the Manager. Be available, as required, to work shifts in emergency situations.

Qualifications:
High school graduate or GED, minimum age 18.
Must be able to follow direction and communicate effectively with managers, co-workers, and clients to permit efficient and effective site operations and to meet resident care needs.
Strong problem-solving skills, dependable, flexible, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Behavioral Technician may not be a blood relative of any individual receiving services at the ASI/NCEP site of employment.
Must be able to effectively communicate with the client, (must be able to read, write and speak English).
Ability to lift and transfer, using proper body mechanics, adults weighing 100-200 pounds in a safe and consistent manner
Must be able to conduct oneself in a professional manner and abide by all organizational and program policies in order to maintain the integrity of the program and assure the best quality cares and support for the residents.
ASI policy and/or state legislation may prohibit individuals with certain criminal background from working in a direct care role.
Supporting Qualifications:
Previous health care training or experience desirable.
Displays an aptitude to understand health care needs.
